Our basic size guide, This is a guide to be used when purchasing We Print Balls Customised or Personalised Gloves. Other manufacturers may vary.

• 2oz - boxing glove for toddlers and children aged 3-4 years
• 4oz - As above but a little bigger to fit 4-5 years
• 6oz   - ideal for children, aged around 5 years to 7 years old.
• 8oz   - a perfect starter size for women and teenagers
• 10oz - a starter size for men; second size up for women and commonly used for competition
• 12oz - starter size for men;
• 14oz - good for sparring; use for practice; get used to heavyweight. Our most popular glove.
• 16oz - used by experienced or heavyweight boxers. Our largest glove

Need a boxing glove size guide? We are often asked about the correct size for our gloves and hope we can help! The below is a guide to assist you but we would recommend getting confirmation if the personalised boxing gloves you are looking to purchase are a gift. Boxing has been an immensely popular sport for a very long time and there have been some fantastic fights of late but, it's not only the boxer's ability that is important but also the equipment that they use. Boxing gloves are clearly the most important thing a boxer needs to have before stepping into the ring, gym or any kind of sparring session. Choosing the perfect pair of gloves is a must! At We Print Balls we offer two qualities of boxing gloves, in a knockout 8 sizes with 5 colour options. 

WHICH MATERIAL

LEATHER BOXING GLOVES

Leather boxing gloves are highly recommended.  They may cost a little more than boxing gloves made of other materials such as the PU, but will ultimately last longer as well as offering far better support to the user.  If you are using boxing gloves strictly for a fitness class such as box fit or the gloves are for a child, the material may not be as important. If you want to train, spar or fight then thats when you should be looking at leather. 

ARTIFICIAL LEATHER PU BOXING GLOVES

PU which is artificial leather is a perfect material for boxing gloves used by children or someone starting out who has yet to develop their boxing skills.  As you develop speed, skills and most importantly power the PU gloves will show signs of wear and will need to be replaced with a pair of leather ones.

WEIGHT (OUNCES)

The size of the boxing gloves you wear is significant. Boxing Gloves can weigh anywhere from 2oz for children to 20 ounces for the biggest heavyweights. The Size used in a professional boxing match is usually 10 ounces. For the purposes of training and bag work, then the standard sizes are 12 ounces, 14 ounces, and 16 ounces. If you are looking for more protection, then a heavier glove is where you need to look.

Most people think they must buy a glove that fits their hand, but this isn't the case. If you can, use hand wraps on your hand when trying a glove on.  This was you can see how the feel will change with the hand wrap and if a bigger size is needed.

The weight of the gloves is increased by putting more padding into it at the manufacturing stage.  If you are going to go fully onto your opponent then the heavier gloves will give more protection. Our gloves increase in size as they do in weight so a 16oz glove will only fit someone of large build.
